National Cricket Training Squad Announced
The Bermuda Cricket Board today [Feb 12] announced the squad that will train in the hopes to be selected for the 2020 Men’s National Cricket Team.
In a meeting on Tuesday night, BCB president, Lloyd Smith outlined requirements of the training squad in front of the players, the board’s new executive members, high-performance committee, Selection committee and coaching staff consisting of Under 19 Head Coach, Arnold Manders and Senior Men’s Head Coach, Herbie Bascome. The underlying purpose was to discuss the plan for the team while unifying all parties in the organisation.
The team will be gearing up for two tours this summer — the Cricket World Cup 50 Overs Challenge League in Uganda and the T20 ICC Americas Qualifiers in Canada.

Players who receive(d) suspensions during overseas tours should not be considered for inclusion in teams travelling abroad for the entire 2020/21 season. They should be suspended from all league, Counties and Cup Match games as well. Follow through Cricket board and represented clubs for too long behaviours have been seen and talked about, yet serious discipline has not been dealt. Time for Board and Clubs to stand firm on behaviours which can and sometimes does cause our much beloved sport to become scenes of total disrespect, disgusting gestures, foul language, threats to umpires, spectators and fans. Time for change.
