Video: Usain Bolt Races In Bermuda In 2004

February 9, 2020

As Bermuda prepares for Carifta Games 2020, which will be held on the island, the event’s organisers have posted a throwback video featuring Usain Bolt when the world-renowned Jamaican track athlete competed in Carifta 2004, also held in Bermuda.

During the 2004 event, Bolt broke the 200m world junior record, won three gold medals, and earned the Austin Sealy Award for the most outstanding athlete.

Carifta organisers posted the video online with a caption saying, “In 2004, a bolt of lightning struck Bermuda. Usain Bolt tore up the Bermuda National Stadium at the Carifta Games that year, breaking the 200m world junior record and winning three gold medals and the Austin Sealy Award for most outstanding athlete.

“In 2020, athletes will get the opportunity to compete on the same track that Bolt’s legendary career began.”
