“I’ve been delighted with the turnout at the pop-up testing sites yesterday and today. I’m grateful to all the staff who have mobilized to make this happen and, in particular, to Mr. Dean Parris as Project Manager on the COVID Incident Command team. With 11 days of no new cases, every case from now on will be under investigation, community spread. It will continue to spread within our community as we open up and people let their guards down.

Thanks Bermuda government for more cases of covid because of your March!

    • Herbalist says:

      BINGO!!

We have to lock the country down because of C-19…later we have 2000 + people marching together forgetting the social distance plan. A good march but at the wrong time BDA. Now we have to pray we don’t have an increase in cases because of this.

It wasn’t put on by the Government, and Members of the opposition wEr there as well.

    Black Lives Matters. Yep.

Black Lives Marchers. Well it seems they now matter too.

Thanks a bunch selfish people, prolonging Covid and potential harm. My money is on you.

  4. Rod L says:

If these cases are local transmission, it would be helpful to know how and where they were transmitted. With such knowledge, unwitting causal behaviors can be changed.

Makes you wonder about the gathering of SEVEN THOUSAND people that occurred last Sunday. Not sure why politics come before basic safety standards.

    • Mark says:

Not to mention the easy 200 fools at John Smiths before the traditional brawl.

    • Codfish says:

Basic Safety Standards doesn’t win votes. A good, old fashioned march does. All Burt is doing is playing politics with people’s lives.

Why would anyone care at this point. We are opening the Airport in 2 weeks. 2 will seem like nothing with the amount that will be imported and spread enough that we will go back to a complete shutdown instead of trying stay the course in Phase 2 for a few more weeks so people didn’t let their guard down. Oh and Bermudians thinking they are about to travel for a vacation. You have to quarantine in UK, US or Canada for 15 days on arrival even before you can take a connecting flight. But we don’t want to do that to visitors coming in. So sad. Maybe someone should look at New Zealand. No international flights. Their last phase what equal to our phase 2 and are at 0. Now they have all businesses open and full capacity! And even have sports back with fans… Doing it right!

    • STFU says:

New Zealand don’t rely on tourism as much as us! Stop trying to compare apples to oranges!

  7. Wilfred says:

What is the age of the new cases, and are they male or female?

  8. Kim says:

Actually New Zealand relies on tourism tremendously
And also same as Bermuda – so many goods are imported
