GRF Announces New Leadership Appointments
The Global Reinsurance Forum [GRF] announced that Emmanuel Clarke has been appointed as GRF Chairman for a two-year term, while Jean-Jacques Henchoz has been appointed as Vice-Chairman.
A spokesperson said, “At a recent meeting of the Global Reinsurance Forum [GRF] Emmanuel Clarke, President and CEO PartnerRe, has assumed the role of GRF Chairman for a two-year term, succeeding Kevin O’Donnell, CEO RenaissanceRe, who became Chairman in 2018. Jean-Jacques Henchoz, CEO Hannover Re, was elected Vice Chairman.
Emmanuel Clarke said: “As businesses, people and governments battle with the Covid-19 situation and its deeper ramifications, the global reinsurance industry has the opportunity and responsibility to leverage its expertise in risk management and resilience building for the benefit of our societies and economies. I am excited to take the helm of the GRF at this critical juncture and, on behalf of all Members, wish to express my gratitude to Kevin for leading the GRF over the past two years.”
Jean-Jacques Henchoz commented: “It is a privilege to serve as the GRF’s Vice Chair. As globalisation is receding and with protectionism on the rise, the Forum’s mission to promote an open and fair framework for global reinsurance markets and raise the understanding of the value of reinsurance to economies and societies, is more important than ever.”
