MarketPlace To Host ‘Cup Match Roadshow’
MarketPlace is set to host their ‘Cup Match Roadshow’ next week at select stores, offering an array of activities including a ‘twist on Crown and Anchor’, rum swizzle, performances from the Gombeys, music by DJ Chubb and more.
A spokesperson said, “The MarketPlace is giving customers a small taste of Cup Match with this year’s event cancelled. The retailer is inviting customers to The MarketPlace Cup Match Roadshow, where they can enjoy some of the pleasures experienced at Cup Match at select stores including a twist on Crown and Anchor, rum swizzle and Gombeys.
“The event will travel from Shelly Bay MarketPlace to Heron Bay MarketPlace before concluding at Somerset MarketPlace on Monday July 27, Tuesday July 28 and Wednesday July 29, respectively, from 4.00pm to 8.00pm each day.
“Vendors including 9 Parishes, Ashley’s Lemonade, Beat the Heat Treats and Casa Dos Açores will be on hand for snacks and beverages. Crown and Anchor will be the special highlight and played with a twist. For every $50 spent at The MarketPlace, customers will receive an entry form to place their bets – in lieu of cash – winning bets will then be entered into a draw for one of three $100 gift cards.
“Purchases must be made on the day. DJ Chubb will be playing music throughout the afternoon with gombey performances from 7.30pm featuring Places New Generation Gombeys on Monday and Tuesday and Gombey Warriors on Wednesday.”
Seth Stutzman, president of The MarketPlace group of companies, said: “We know how important Cup Match is to customers and communities, it’s a fun celebratory time for all. And with this year’s event cancelled we wanted to put an event together that is fun and lively and offers just a bit of the Cup Match experience. We hope everyone enjoys and has a safe Cup Match holiday.”
MarketPlace noted that “customers will be required to wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines.”
