Video: BWS Director Dr Mark Guishard
Bermuda Weather Service Director Dr Mark Guishard joined Bernews this afternoon [Sept 12] in order to provide an update on Tropical Storm Paulette, which is expected to start impacting the island beginning on Sunday and lasting until late Monday, with the island now under a Hurricane Warning.
In providing information on the scientific aspects, Dr Guishard explained that Paulette — which is expected to become a hurricane — is currently “moving into an environment that is more conducive to it strengthening into a hurricane.”
“Paulette will come very close to the island, if not right over us,” he explained, adding that it is “forecast to be a long event.”
