Trott To Take Part In World Athletics Half Marathon
Sean Trott will be participating in the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships, with the local runner to take part in the international event virtually, running the half marathon route in Bermuda.
Bermuda National Athletics Association President Donna Raynor said, “The BNAA are pleased to advise that Sean Trott will be participating in the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships, but running it virtually.
“Sean had qualified for the event and was approved and ready to compete in the event in March before we were hit with the pandemic. The event was rescheduled to later in the year, October, but Sean made the decision to not travel to Gydnia, Poland during this time to compete.
“The event will take place this weekend, Saturday October 17th. Due to the pandemic, WA offered the participants to run the event virtually if they had travel restrictions or did not want to take the chance due to safety.
“Sean chose to run it virtually. He will be running the BTC half marathon route starting outside of Hamilton Princess at 7:30am and completing the race at Barrs Park. This course was chosen as it is already a certified and measured course.
“Sean has invited a few other runners to participate and run with him. We are very excited about this opportunity for Sean and the results will be forwarded to WA.”
CONGRATULATIONS SEAN for continuing Your training through the hot summer in anticipation of this great event. ALL THE BEST in the run & hope You do A PB.
