Martial Artists Win Multiple Classes In Alliance
Bermuda martial artists competed in the Alliance World Online Championships, with the local athletes making a strong showing, and claiming a number of class wins.
Dominque Brown, representing the Zenji Ryu Karate School, won the 12 – 17 Krazy Athetic Mixed Class and also won the 12 – 17 Self Defense Advance / BB Class.
Shane Smith won the 8 – 11 Forms – Traditional Advance / BB Class while representing Bermuda Karate Institute.
In the 12 – 17 Forms – Traditional Advance / BB Class, Brown finished second, while Talia Iris finished 2nd competing in the 18+ Forms – Traditional Advance / BB Class representing the Zenji Ryu Karate School.
Massanda and Amarriah Vaughans, representing Tabata-Ha Shotokan Karate-Do Bermuda, finished 1st and 2nd in the 8 – 11 Forms – Traditional Beginner Class, while Zechariah McIlwain, representing the Bermuda Karate Institute, finished 6th.
During the 8 – 11 Forms – Traditional Intermediate Class, Fancie Bowens-Tucker finished 5th, while representing Bermuda Karate Institute.
In the 12 – 17 Forms – Creative Advance / BB Class, Brown finished 2nd and Brown then won the 12 – 17 Forms – Musical Open Advance / BB Class.
Massanda Vaughans won the 8 – 11 Weapons – Traditional Beginner Class, Brown finishing second in the 12 – 17 Weapons – Traditional Advance / BB Class, with Iris finishing 3rd in the 18+ Weapons – Traditional Advance / BB Class.
Brown finished third competing in the 12 – 17 Weapons – Creative Advance / BB Class and also placed third in 12 – 17 Weapons – Musical Advance / BB Class.
