Police Investigating Last Night’s Car Fire
The police are investigating the car fire last night, and said that the investigation “is in its early stages, but foul play has not been ruled out.”
A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday 31st December, 2020, Police and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service, responded to a report of a car fire in the area of Roberts Avenue and Derwent Lane, Pembroke.
“Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle engulfed. The investigation into this matter, led by officers from the Criminal Investigations Unit, is in its early stages, but foul play has not been ruled out.
“There has been heightened police visibility in the area, to provide reassurance to residents. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call 211 or, the main police number 295-0011.”
There have been a spate of vehicle fires recently, one on December 15th in St George’s, another one in St George’s on December 13th, and a truck fire in Pembroke on December 14th.
