BGA Junior Golf Program Assessment Day
The Bermuda Golf Association and the Bermuda Golf Foundation will be holding an assessment day for the 2021 BGA Junior Golf program at the Port Royal Golf Course on Saturday, March 13th.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Golf Association and the Bermuda Golf Foundation [Charity #141] are now able to provide you with an update on our plans to restart the BGA Junior Golf. As the National Sport Governing Body, the BGA is committed to providing opportunities and access for any child that wishes to play golf on the island.

Golf clubs are not required to attend, however we do ask that you RSVP to reserve a spot. A skill assessment will be mandatory for ALL children wishing to be a part of Junior Golf in 2021, regardless of any involvement with the program previously.
“The assessment day will be free and will operate under strict Government COVID-19 guidelines, with a maximum in each age group listed below:
- 5-8 years of age 10:00am-11:00am
- 9-11 years of age 11:30am-12:30pm
- 12-15 years of age 1:00pm-2:00pm
- 16-18 years of age 2:30pm-3:30pm
- We kindly ask that you RSVP to juniors@bermudagolf.org
- Please state the time slot and how many people (including adults) will be in attendance.
- If your child requires golf clubs for the assessment, please indicate this in your RSVP email.
BGA President Craig Brown, “We are excited to enter a new chapter for junior golf in Bermuda. The assessment day allows us to work with our industry stakeholders the Bermuda Professional Golfers’ Association, and will provide useful benchmarking data on skill level and physical abilities. The data will allow us to assign a junior golfer to the most appropriate golf development pathway for their age, gender and skill set.
“Our new Junior Golf program forms part of the BGA’s strategic plan – ‘Birth to Podium’ – and is based on the scientific principles of Long-Term Athlete Development [LTAD] with clearly defined pathways for the physical, mental, and emotional development of each junior golfer.”
