Butterfield To Temporarily Return To Split Teams

March 26, 2021

The Bank of Butterfield announced that “beginning Monday, 29 March 2021, staffing levels in their Bermuda Banking Centres will temporarily be reduced as they return to split teams working alternating shifts.”

A spokesperson said, “Butterfield’s Banking Centres in Hamilton [Reid Street], Somerset and St. George’s remain open during the general banking hours of 9:00a.m. – 4:00p.m., Monday to Friday.

“To protect other members of the public and our staff, clients should continue to wear a mask and follow other Covid-19 guidance when visiting Butterfield.”

Michael Neff, Butterfield’s Managing Director in Bermuda, said, “We understand that, in an effort to protect our employees, clients who require in-person services will experience longer wait times than usual. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. As an essential service provider, we have taken these measures to ensure we can continue to operate in the current environment.”

“Clients are encouraged to utilise Butterfield’s alternate banking channels, using any Butterfield ATM, Butterfield Online, or the Mobile Banking app wherever possible. In addition, clients wishing to make deposits also have the option of using the ‘No-Wait Deposit’ at any Butterfield Banking Centre and the ATMs at Butterfield on Reid Street, Rosebank Drive-Thru, Collectors Hill Apothecary, and Shelly Bay Marketplace.

“Butterfield’s corporate offices remain open, but clients are encouraged to call before visiting. For assistance with loan enquiries, clients should call [441] 298 4799. Corporate Banking and Private Banking clients should contact their Relationship Managers. For all other matters, contact the Call Centre on [441] 295 1111.”
