16-Year-Old Male Seriously Injured In Stabbing
The police have confirmed that a 16-year-old was injured in a stabbing in Southampton yesterday, and said his injuries “were described as life threatening.”
Dectective Inspector Derricka Burns of the Criminal Investigations said, “Shortly before 5:45 p.m. yesterday, Friday 7th May, Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to a reported stabbing incident at a parking lot opposite the Southampton Rangers field on South Road, Southampton.
“Upon arrival it was ascertained the victim, a sixteen-year-old male, suffered stab wounds to the torso, but was conscious and breathing.
“He was attended to at the scene by EMTs and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, for treatment to his injuries, which were described as life threatening.
“The suspect stole a gold coloured chain from the victim prior to inflicting injuries. He is described as a dark brown complexioned, black male with a short haircut, wearing teal coloured pants and a dark top. He was last seen fleeing the area along the trails of Horseshoe Bay Beach.
“Investigators urgently need to hear from anyone who was on the beach, trails or in the area of Horseshoe Bay between 4pm and 6:00pm and may have seen a person fitting this description.
“This was a brazen act of violence which has resulted in a young man being hospitalised for serious injuries. We are seeking to bring the offender to justice. If anyone knows who is responsible, we urge you to please come forward and tell us what you know.
