Bermuda Day Showcase Open To Community
The Bermuda Day Showcase registration is “now open to the wider community and general public,” the Government announced today.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Culture is pleased to advise that following the initial allocation to essential workers, the Bermuda Day Showcase registration is now open to the wider community and general public.
“For a free ticket to the Bermuda Day Showcase, members of the public can visit Ptix.bm.
Today the Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport Dr. Ernest Peets said, “We recognize the significance and importance of our national holiday and the desire for all of Bermuda to collectively celebrate our culture, our heritage and our traditions.
“While essential workers are the focus audience for the Bermuda Day Showcase, we are inviting members of the general public to attend with a guest, and we are delighted to be able to open up this event to the wider community.”
Minister Peets continued, “I should also note that the introduction of the SafeKey programme also allows us more flexibility to invite the more of the community to the Bermuda Day Showcase. As the Premier shared yesterday, the Ministry of Health has issued more than 13,400 emails containing SafeKeys. This is very welcome news.
“But I must also stress that persons do not need a vaccine to participate in the SafeKey programme, as they can also do it by getting a negative test at any of the public testing facilities. Tests are free and readily available. So if anyone wants to attend the Bermuda Day Showcase, there are spaces currently available for booking at Penno’s Wharf for those wanting a free test.”
“This event will feature the excitement of the annual Bermuda Day Holiday. Well-known inspirational Bermudian Dejon Simmons will be one of this year’s Grand Marshals, along with the Covid-19 Command Response team, and Government conservationist Jeremy Madeiros.
“Performers include, but are not limited to:
- PHC Majorettes
- Vision Dance School
- Rated E Dancers
- Rowdy Piper [Roddy Nesbitt]
- Arijahknow Live Wires
- Brixx
- For God’s Purpose Dancers
