Armstrongs Compete In NJ Track Sectionals
The first step on the road to the NJSIAA Meet of Champions saw Nathan and Andrew Armstrong compete at the NJ Track & Field Group 1 Sectionals, representing Pompton Lakes Cardinal.
Nathan Armstrong ran and placed in four races, leading all of them from start to finish.
He won the 1600m with a time of 4:18.39.
During the 400m, Nathan finished third overall; because he didn’t have a seed time in the 400m, he was placed in the slowest heat, running 51.08 in lane 1.
Nathan also picked up a win in the 3200m by clocking 9:51.02 and the 800m by stopping the clock in 1:57.10.
Andrew Armstrong has found his niche in the 800m; he finished his freshman year at his first NJ sectionals meet by finishing 12th as the first freshman in the Group 1 race by clocking 2:13.16.
