Apply For Paul Maddern Theatre Scholarship
Venture Theatre is offering the Paul Maddern Theatre Scholarship, which will be “awarded to one student who exhibits artistic promise, dedication to the craft, and the serious intention of pursuing an acting or theatre related undergraduate degree.”
A spokesperson said, “Venture Theatre is pleased to announce the availability of The Paul Maddern Theatre Scholarship. This scholarship is a full ride to attend Session 2 of the Venture Theatre Drama Summer Intensive. Session 2 is for students ages 15-18 and runs from August 2nd-20th, 2021.
“This scholarship will be awarded to one student who exhibits artistic promise, dedication to the craft, and the serious intention of pursuing an acting or theatre related undergraduate degree.
“The 2021 Drama Summer Intensive aims to provide students with an immersive and demanding 3-week-long experience consisting of theatre games, improv classes, professional workshops, and rehearsals for an abridged Shakespeare production to be presented at the culmination of the session.
“Students will learn to integrate the tools and techniques that they are learning in the classroom into this rehearsal process. This process-oriented approach will allow students to learn the foundations of acting and text analysis; strengthen their physical and vocal instruments; bring their own unique experiences, vulnerability, and empathy to their understanding of character and develop a text-based approach to storytelling.
“This intensive will give students the oppourtunity to engage with their creative selves, be part of an exciting theatre-making process, and cultivate their own unique artistic sensibilities.
