Bermuda Runners Compete In London Marathon

More than 40,000 runners hit the streets in the 40th Virgin Money London Marathon, with six of those runners hailing from Bermuda, including Seamus Fearon, Steve Pegg, Anna Laura Hocking, Mark Harris, Peter Tobin, and Laura Graham.

The 26.2-mile race returned to the capital’s streets for the first full-scale staging of the race in more than two years, following the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Fearon finished 102nd overall with a time of 2:31:03. Fearon finished 19th in the Men’s 40 – 44 Age Group Division.

Fearon went through the halfway mark in a time of 1:14:42, before clocking 1:16:21 over the second half of the race. Tobin was clocked across the line in a time of 3:24:06, ranking 4,922nd overall and 423rd in the Men’s 50 – 54 Age Group.

Hocking finished 8,433rd overall as the 1,810th female to cross the line and 356th in the Female 40 – 44 Age Group, stopping the clock with a time of 3:43:13. Graham was the 8,496th runner to cross the line, clocking a time of 3:43:28; she was the 860th Female 19 – 39 Age Group finisher.

Pegg crossed the line in 10,934th as the 880th finisher in the Men’s 50 – 54 Age Group with a time of 3:54:05. Harris clocked a time of 3:57:25, finishing 11,902nd overall and 1,673rd in the Men’s 40 – 44 Age Group.
