Buses To Operate On Sunday Schedule

October 3, 2021

Starting on Monday [Oct 4] the “bus service will operate on the Sunday schedule seven days per week” with the schedule adjustment “due to the staffing shortages, which have increased recently owing to Covid-19 related absences.”

A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Public Transportation is advising the public of a temporary change in the public bus schedule.

“Commencing tomorrow, Monday, 4 October through Sunday, 17 October, the public bus service will operate on the Sunday schedule, seven days per week. Additional commuter runs are included from Monday to Saturday.

“The schedule adjustment is due to the staffing shortages, which have increased recently owing to Covid-19 related absences. The temporary bus schedule requires fewer resources, which provides for a safer and reliable public bus service.

“The temporary schedule will be reviewed on 13 October to determine the best way forward. DPT is grateful to the public for their patience as we manage operations during this pandemic. The temporary bus schedule is posted at www.gov.bm/bus.”

“the “bus service will operate on the Sunday schedule seven days per week” with the schedule adjustment “due to the staffing shortages, which have increased recently owing to Covid-19 related absences”

Does that mean the Public Transport Board has accepted the resignations of those drivers who refused to work for over a week and then would only discuss returning after they were paid for their week off?

This is ridiculous. 1 bus leaving Somerset that will get me into town by 8am and one more to get me into town by 9 am

  4. SandgrownAn says:

Meh. Who cares? Really shut it all down now.

They’ve been on a sunday schedule for the past 40 years……………

    • Ringmaster says:

That’s polite, as they don’t seem to have been on any schedule with the number of cancellations. It’s “wait at the bus stop and hope a bus arrives within the hour”.
