BBA Island Basketball League Gets Underway
The Bermuda Basketball Association’s Island Basketball League got underway inside the CedarBridge Academy Gymnasium, with a double-header that produced 188 points in the two matches.
In the opener, the Franchise defeated the Splash Brother 43 – 39. Dwayne Caines led the Franchise to victory with 12 points, while Gikai Clarke added 11 points for the winners. John Lee scored a team-high 11 points for the Slash Brothers, he also grabbed 15 rebounds, two other teammates finished with 10 points in Jason Lowe, and Vernon Lambe.
In the nightcap, the Young Goatz defeated the Black Mambas 65 – 41. Dion Easton had a double-double to lead the Young Goatz to victory with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Ronald Bushner added 12 points, Calvert Lee scored 7 points for the Black Mambas, with Jahmair Trott and Seward Smith both adding 6 points each.
