Fire At Westover Farm In Sandys Parish
[Updated] The Fire Service and Police are currently responding to a fire at Westover Farm in Sandys parish.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 10:20am today, Thursday 25th November, a fire was reported at Westover Dairy Farm in Sandys parish.
“Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel are currently on scene dealing with the blaze, with Bermuda Police Service personnel also in attendance to assist as necessary.
“The public is advised to stay away from the property until further notice, while the fire is being brought under control. A further update from the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service is anticipated in due course.”
Update 1.10pm: A BFRS spokesperson said, “At 10:20am, November 25, 2021 Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service Dispatch received a report of a structural fire at the West Over Farm, West Side Road in Somerset.
“BFRS responded with three fire appliances with a total of 13 firefighters.
“Upon arrival fire crews saw a two story building with smoke and flames issuing from the second floor. The fire department quickly set up for defensive firefighting to exstinguish the blaze. There were no injuries at the incident.
“Firefighters are now in the process of overhauling the incident.
“The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is being investigated by the fire investigator from the BFRS.”
