ICO Issues Decisions On Cabinet & Govt House
Information Commissioner Gitanjali Gutierrez issued two decisions regarding the Cabinet Office and the Office of the Governor.
A spokesperson said, “On 31 December 2021, Information Commissioner Gitanjali Gutierrez issued Decision 21/2021, Cabinet Office and Decision 22/2021, Office of the Governor [Government House].
“In both decisions, the Information Commissioner considered the failure of the public authorities to conduct an internal review and issue a decision within the 6-week timeframe prescribed in the Public Access to Information Act.
“During the Information Commissioner’s reviews, the Cabinet Office and Government House provided the applicants with an internal review decision and, as such, were not required to take further action.”
“Decisions 21/2021 and 22/2021 are available on www.ico.bm.”

It looks like the Government is ignoring the PATI Act and the ICO Commissioner is having to constantly admonish them for it? What about jail time for offenders not providing timely access to our information? The Government works for us and we are entitled to access to information but the Government continues to ignore it! Time to put these politicians in jail. That will light a fire under them!
