Cyclists Continue In Dominican Republic
The Bermuda cycling team of Conor White, Liam Flannery, Zander Miller, Nicolas Narraway, and Dominque Mayho continued racing the XLIII Vuelta Ciclística Independencia Nacional in the Dominican Republic.
The second day consisted of the return Barahona-Santo Domingo, passing through Azua, Baní, and San Cristobal, with a distance of 179 kilometers.
Once again White finished as the top Bermuda rider crossing the line 25th in a time of 4:26:13, he finished 1 minute and 56 seconds behind the Stage winner Brayan Gomez who was clocked across the line in a time of 4:24:17.
Riders finishing between 25 – 76 all clocked the same time with multiple Bermuda riders falling into that category. Narraway was 39th overall, Mayho was ruled across the line 54th, Miller was 58th, while Flannery was 101st across the line.
Team Bermuda finished in 12th in the team standings with an overall time of 13:18:39.
After Two Stages, White is in 29th place with an overall time of 8:32:34, 2 minutes and 6 seconds off the overall leader Gomez. Narraway is in 35th with an overall time of 8:32:34 as well.
Mayho is 59th with a combined time of 8:42:15, Miller currently sits in 76th with a time of 8:43:09, and Flannery is in 90th clocking a time of 8:54:58.
In the Under 23 Division, Narraway is in 7th, 1 minute and 56 seconds behind the leader David Castillo, Miller is 17th, and Flannery is in 22nd.
In the overall combined time, Bermuda is currently 11th place with a time of 25:47:23.
