Madelyn Moore Wins Medals Record Setting Style
[Updated with video] Madelyn Moore put on an outstanding performance at the 2022 WAC Swimming and Diving Championships in Texas, claiming two medals and setting two new records.
The Bermudian swimmer competes for the Northern Colorado University, and the school’s report said, “Head coach Lisa Ebeling couldn’t have asked for a better response from her team on Thursday.
“Two schools records, as well as gold, silver and bronze medals, highlighted an eventful evening in Houston as the Bears surged into fifth place with 159 points.
“UNC entered Thursday evening with something to prove and boy did they. Saana Liikonen kicked off the 200 free relay and with performances from Payten Irwin, Ali Jackson and Madelyn Moore, the Bears unraveled a head-turning time. Moore nearly caught GCU at the finish but hit the wall with a time of 1:30.32, a school record by over a second.
“Northern Colorado brought the fireworks for the final swimming event of the evening in the 50 free. Not only did Madelyn Moore break her own school record turning in a 22.17, but Moore also claimed the WAC Meet record.”
