New Stallion Record Set During Harness Racing
The Bermuda Harness Pony Racing season continued at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street.
The first race of the day saw three fast ponies go to the start gate, with Kirista Rabain in the bike of Simsfield Hardtimes clocking a winning time of 1:02&4 in the 1:04&2 & Faster Time Bar Class, Philip Corriea in the bike of War Machine was second in 1:03&1, and Catrina Sharman in the bike of Google me finished third with a time of 1:03&3.
The 1:11&4 & Slower Time Bar Class first race saw Red Grand with Macray Bulford in the bike clock a winning time of 1:13 flat, while Jashaun Young in the bike of Midnight Express finished second in 1:16&3.
David Burrows drove Shady Maple to victory in the 1:06&1 – 1:08 Flat Time Bar Class clocking 1:07&1, Andy Stoneham in the bike of Wiggleitjiggleit was second in 1:07&2, and Darico Clarke in the bike of Special tux finished third with a time of 1:07&3.
Special Gold equaled the season’s fastest time thus far of 1:02&1, in the final race of the day with Rabain in the bike during the 1:04&2 & Faster Time Bar Class, and in doing so that set a new Driving Harness Pony Club Stallion Record and Candyce Martins in the bike of Double Time finished second in 1:02&4.
