Aunde Russell Todd is the latest Bermudian teenager to be handed a trial by Milton Keynes Dons.

Todd is two weeks into a three-week training stint with the Sky Bet League One side’s academy.

The 16-year-old was recommended to the Buckinghamshire outfit by Bermudian Peter Rickards, the club’s Sports and Education Trust Programme under-11 coach and one of Todd’s former coaches at Bermuda Athletic Association.

Todd moved to England four years ago to pursue his football ambitions, having trials at Premier League side Chelsea and Championship team Luton Town before joining Isthmian League South Central Division side Bracknell Town.

“The trial at MK Dons has been going well so far, and, hopefully, I’ll be able to stay a bit longer,” Todd told Bernews. “I’ve been training with the under-18s and enjoying it.

“The standard is pretty high, but I’m feeling comfortable. I’ve noticed a step up in terms of quality and physicality.

“It would be great to sign for the MK Dons Academy; however, I’ll return to Bracknell and push for the senior team if it doesn’t work out.”

Todd has spent the past three seasons at Bracknell, playing for their under-15, 16, 18, 19 and 23 sides.

“I’ve enjoyed my time at Bracknell,” Todd added. “It’s been a great place to continue my football development.

“I still need to improve both the physical and technical aspects of my game.”

The holding midfielder believes he is developing into a more refined player and prides himself on his composure on the ball, eye for a pass, and positional play.

“I’m a technical, comfortable and composed type of player,” the former Warwick Academy pupil said. “I’m comfortable with both feet and have good vision.

“I’ve had to make some sacrifices since I came to the UK, but I’m sure they will be worth it.”
