Two People Die After Two Separate Collisions
[Updated] The police have confirmed the sad news that two people have died following separate collisions; a woman died following a crash in Sandys, and a man died following a collision in Southampton.
A police spokesperson said, “Sadly, the Bermuda Police Service can confirm that the 42 year old woman involved in a single vehicle car crash which occurred on Beacon Hill, Sandys, around 10:35 p.m. on Friday, 25th March, 2022. has succumbed to her injuries.
“Additionally, we can confirm that the 51 year old man, who was involved in what appears to be a single vehicle collision which occurred on South Road near Church Bay, Southampton, around 3:15 am on Saturday 26th March, 2022, has also, sadly, succumbed to his injuries.
“These mark the second and third road traffic fatalities, respectively, for 2022. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been informed.
“Investigations into both matters remain ongoing and anyone with information is asked to get in contact with us by calling 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.”
Update 12.00pm: Shadow Transport Minister Susan Jackson said, “I’m shocked and saddened to learn of two road fatalities last night. On behalf of The One Bermuda Alliance, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased during this difficult time.”
