Video: BWS Deputy Director Michelle Pitcher
Deputy Director of the Bermuda Weather Service Michelle Pitcher is joining Bernews this evening [May 31] for the latest episode in the Bernews News & Views series.
Ms Pitcher will be discussing the 2022 hurricane season — which officially starts tomorrow — with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration [NOAA] having predicted a likely range of 14 to 21 named storms “of which 6 to 10 could become hurricanes.”
“NOAA’s outlook for the 2022 Atlantic hurricane season, which extends from June 1 to November 30, predicts a 65% chance of an above-normal season, a 25% chance of a near-normal season and a 10% chance of a below-normal season,” the organisation said.
