The Government will host a town hall at 6pm this evening [June 23] on Bermuda’s Youth Employment Strategy and people can attend in-person at the St. Paul’s AME Centennial Church Hall or watch online or via CITV television.
The meeting will be hosted by Minister of Economy and Labour Jason Hayward, Department of Workforce Development Director Malika Cartwright and Bermuda Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Erica Smith.
The Government previously said, “This event is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and gather information on how the Government will support our youth in developing the ability to guide and lead our country’s path into the future. The event will feature on Government’s CITV channel and social media platforms.”

“The Government previously said, “This event is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and gather information …”
The last 2 times I attended a town hall meeting and asked questions I was threatened by PLP and union members. I stopped going. Only “certain” Bermudians are welcome to ask questions.
Why? Why is government doing this? It’s a meaningless exercise in a stagflating economy and no real employment prospects.
How will success be measured, and who will be accountable?
Goal #9 Repatriation of Bermudians. Really?
I wonder how far this initiative will go! Regrettably our successive Governments have not pushed for/reinforced the inclusion of youth and indeed adult employment for Bermudians in the very place that is our home! Look around! The current Govt have had years in Govt to right the situation. What they been doing….as an example we should have had a dedicated technical school in place by now to turn out qualified mechanics, masons, nurses.etc. only reliance has been on Bda. College. Remember the technical school that was shut down to prevent progress of Bermudians- especially black Bermudians! But we go out and built failed Middle Schools, spending millions on a failed system.I am so sick of the incompent politicians tasked with righting wrongs! Who going to lead this country forward!!!. My opinion is it wont be Bermudians!
No wonder there are so few jobs for Bermudians, as the PLP have sold Bermuda to foreigners. Soon there will be a lack of housing because so much of the land has been divided up and developed as condos at a price only foreigners can afford. Southampton Princess is next, paid for by Bermudian tax payers thanks to the appalling deal agreed to by Burt. The PLP love it because of the fees it brings, all the while pretending they are a Labour Government and looking after Bermudians.
‘Remember the technical school that was shut down to prevent progress of Bermudians- especially black Bermudians!’
Ya’ll just can’t let that old myth go , can you ?
The only way forward…is to lie.
The PLP has shown that they will lie to get their way, and their followers have no problem with that.
It’s revenge, for 400 years of slavery.
Life on earth began 400 years ago….there was nothing before that.
