City: ‘Moveable Closure’ On Church Street
The City of Hamilton is advising “that there is currently a ‘moveable closure’ in place along sections of Church Street to allow for road patching.”
A spokesperson said, “Crews are working to fill all potholes along this stretch of road to ensure a safer and smoother driving experience for motorists.
“A ‘moveable closure’ helps to ensure the least disruption to road users, area businesses and their customers. A one lane closure is currently in place in front of People’s Pharmacy [Church Street] and crews will work their way eastwards down Church Street towards King Street.
“Crews will endeavor to open both lanes for rush hour traffic [from 4:30pm to 6:00pm] each day during the work week. The public is advised that some street parking has been blocked off to allow for a smoother flow of traffic in the driving lanes.
“Yesterday, crews patched the stretch of Church Street from Parliament Street to Court Street.
“Towards the end of next week, road crews will start patching works in the Burnaby Street/Cedar Avenue/Church Street junction and outside of the Market Place and the Cathedral on Church Street.
“All Church Street works should be complete by the end of next week.
“The City also wishes to advise motorists that there is ongoing sidewalk works along Victoria Street [outside the Ex-Artillerymen’s Association] which commenced on Tuesday and is scheduled to take five weeks. No driving lanes have been closed in this area so there is no disruption to traffic flow.
“Diversion signs and barriers will be in place.
“The City of Hamilton apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause as we work to improve our City roads and sidewalks.”
Dreamers wait until the city starts to get busy then do these road works. Shoukdnt be suprided though, they do there trash pick ups during rush hour so
