Dame Flora Duffy Wins WTCS Hamburg
Bermuda’s Dame Flora Duffy has added yet another win to her already impressive resume, racing to victory in the World Triathlon Championship Series in Hamburg, Germany today [July 9].
Duffy clocked a time of 58:37, recording a time of 9:41 during the swim, 31:34 on the bike, and a time of 16:17 on the run. Beth Potter from Great Britain was second in a time of 58:43, while Lisa Tertsch from Germany was third in 58:53.
Duffy managed to win despite having to serve as a 10-second penalty for a “T1 infringement,” as her swim goggles were left outside of the transition box.
This was her 13th career WTCS victory and the organisers tweeted the video below saying, “The class of Flora Duffy as she shows she is one of the best triathletes of all-time to win in Hamburg.”
