Fatal Collision In Southampton
The police have confirmed the sad news that a person has died following a collision on South Road in Southampton last night.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 11:43pm on Thursday 28th July, Police and other first responders were dispatched to a report of a serious two vehicle collision on South Road, just west of Horseshoe Road, Southampton, involving two motorcycles.
“Details surrounding this collision are very limited at this time.
“However, two people are reported to be injured, one them is listed in critical condition. A third person was pronounced dead at the scene by an attending physician.
“Traffic is being diverted at Horseshoe Road and Harbour View Drive, whilst police process the scene.
“Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of collision or anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.
“A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the families. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.”
This, sadly, marks the 8th road traffic fatality of the year.
