‘Bermuda To Broadway’ Workshop Series
On Saturday, July 23rd, TROIKA Bermuda will be hosting its Performing Arts Master Class Workshop series entitled ‘Bermuda to Broadway’.
A spokesperson said, “Taught by an industry professional, this event will be filled with workshops that will provide participants with a unique, fun, non-competitive opportunity where they can learn the necessary skills needed for success in theatre.
“The instructor for this event is Bermuda’s own Candace Furbert. She has performed in The Book of Morman [West End], Tina the Musical [West End], Dreamgirls [West End], The Color Purple [TROIKA Bermuda] and Six the Musical [Norwegian Bliss]. She has a wealth of experience that she will share with each of the participants throughout the workshops.
“A variety of workshops are being offered for various age groups. The workshops will cover topics such as musical theater, improvisation, movement, vocals and theatre games.

“Encanto & Theatre Games: In this fun workshop participants will let their inner star shine through as they explore musical theater through music from the hit Disney movie ‘Encanto’. Participants will learn a few theater games to help open up the imagination. For ages 4 – 7 year olds

“Shrek Musical Theatre Workshop: This workshop recreates a true Broadway rehearsal, with participants learning an adaptation of the choreography, staging and music directly from Shrek the Musical. Participants will be provided with sheet music and they will work with the instructor and musician. For ages 8 – 12 year olds

“Acting Improv & Movement: This workshop focuses on improvisation & movement to help open up the imagination and allow participants to better connect with characters and bring them to life. Participants will be very active during this fast-paced and fun session. After a short warm-up session, participants will engage in improvisational exercises & movement techniques designed to heighten their focus, creativity and quick thinking. For ages 13+

“Vocal Workshop: This Workshop focuses on providing participants with the tools necessary to help them stand out from the crowd and bring more excitement to their auditions & performances. Participants will have the opportunity to work on every area of musical theater performance including song interpretation, vocal coaching & performance technique. Participants need to arrive with 2 pre-prepared songs along with the music. For teens & adults.
