Bermuda Players Continue In Caribbean Squash
Bermuda players continued competing in the WATA XXVII Senior Caribbean Singles and Doubles Championships in Jamaica.
Rachel Barnes took to the court in the women’s singles. She faced off against the number two seed, Ashley Degroot from Guyana; Barnes fell in three straight games in a battle that took 17 minutes to complete.
Degroot won 11-2, 11-8, 11-6.
James Dodgson faced Zachary Loquan from Trinidad in his men’s singles consolation division first round match, falling in 26 minutes in four matches.
Dodgson, as he did in his previous match, won the first game 11-9. Loquan leveled the match at 1 – 1 by winning game two 11-4 and then took a 2 – 1 lead by winning game three 11-1. Loquan then closed out the match by winning the fourth game 11-4.
