Hopkins Places 13th In U/23 Time-Trial Worlds

Kaden Hopkins continued his strong form with an impressive thirteenth-place finish in the under-23 time-trial at the UCI Road World Championships in Wollongong, Australia, yesterday.
The Bermudian cyclist finished the 28.8-kilometre course 1min 33.29sec behind winner Soren Waerenskjold, of Norway, who posted a time of 34:13.40.
Hopkins, who placed 48th in the time-trial in the Flanders region of Belgium last year, will compete in the 169km road race on Friday.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a superb Commonwealth Games in Birmingham last month, finishing eleventh in the time-trial, the highest-placed amateur rider, and fourteenth in the road race.

Hopkins, 22, told Cycling Pro Net: “It was a really hard course, but I was in good shape, so I was hoping to put in a good ride.
“I was satisfied by what I did. I had a ride I was trying to execute, and I felt I executed it well. I can’t ask much more than that.”
Hopkin, who races for Spanish outfit Equipo Essax, competes in the 169km road race on Friday.
