Dudley Eve Quarter-Final: Trojans, Cougars Win
The semi-final teams for the Dudley Eve have been set following the final two quarter-final matches which took place at the PHC Stadium with 11 goals scored in the doubleheader.
The Somerset Trojans and Devonshire Cougars have joined Hamilton Parish and the North Village Rams in the semi-finals.
Somerset Trojans 4 – X-Roads 3
In the opener, X-Roads took the lead in the second minute when Darron Simons scored, but seven minutes later the Somerset Trojans were level when Justin Corday found the back of the net. In the 23rd minute, the Somerset Trojans took the lead through a goal from Mohammed Aden.
Corday added his second and his team’s third goal in the 32nd minute, and then nine minutes later her completed his hat trick to give the Somerset Trojans a 4 – 1 lead. In stoppage time, X-Roads pulled a goal back when Amir Wilson scored.
Only one goal was scored in the second half as Wilson added his second goal of the game in the 64th minute; X-Roads could not find the equalizer.
Devonshire Cougars 3 – Boulevard Blazers 1
In the nightcap, despite missing two penalties, the Devonshire Cougars defeated the Boulevard Blazers 3 – 1.
The Devonshire Cougars took the lead in the 22nd minute when Che’ Kai Caisey scored, but six minutes later the Boulevard Blazers were level as Anthony Smith found the back of the net. The two teams went to the break with the score even.
Caisey scored his second goal of the game to give the Devonshire Cougars a 2 – 1 lead in the 51st minute. The Cougars missed two penalties in a space of five minutes, but Domico Coddington got their third in stoppage time to earn them the 3 – 1 win.
