Four Bermuda archers represented the island with pride at the recent Pan American Championships and Pan American Games Qualifier in Santiago, Chile.
Camerin Pickering, Bernard Wade III, and Jaydon Roberts made up the men’s recurve team, while Robin Selley was the sole participant in the women’s recurve competition.
Ross Roberts and Trina Roberts travelled as the team’s coaches.
In the Pan American Championships men’s individual event, Pickering came 26th, Roberts finished 50th and Wade III placed 64th. Selley finished 51st in the women’s competition.
Bermuda placed ninth in the Men’s Team Final, while Pickering and Selley came seventeenth in the Mixed Team Event.
In the Pan American Games Qualifier, Pickering came eighth, Roberts placed 27th and Wade III finished 31st in the men’s recurve. Selley finished 29th in the women’s event.
Bermuda missed out on securing spots for the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, in November next year; however, they will have a second qualifier in April next year.
The island’s archers have already secured spots in the men’s and women’s recurve events at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, El Salvador, in June and July next year.
