Fruit Juices, Bread & Frozen Entrees Prices Up
On a month to month basis, tenderloin prices increased by 8.4%, frozen entrees went up 3.4%, and soft drinks went up 2.9%.
This is according to the recently released August Consumer Price Index which said that on an overall month to month basis the food sector increased 1.0% in August, while an annual basic food sector prices rose 9.5%.
As far as year to year food prices, the report said, “The Food sector was the largest contributor to the twelve-month increase in the CPI [+9.5 per cent]. On average, increases were reported in the cost of fruit juices [+21.9 per cent], bread [+21.1 per cent], frozen entrees [+20.7 per cent] and delicatessen meals [+7.2 per cent].”
Looking at food prices on a month to month basis, the report said, “The Food sector increased 1.0 per cent in August. Notable price changes were observed for tenderloin [+8.4 per cent], frozen entrees [+3.4 per cent] and soft drinks [+2.9 per cent]. In addition, delicatessen meals increased 0.8 per cent.”
And while inflation soars, the economy is also contracting. But everything is ‘still on a good trajectory’ says Hayward, aiming his comments at the most gullible and easily mislead section of the community.
Who are you kidding some Frozen goods went up from $7.00 to $9.00 that means around 15% not what the article says. Everything has gone up in the past 6 months to 1 year about the same. It’s outrageous!
