Minimum Wage Bill Passes In House & Senate

The Employment [Minimum Hourly Wage Entitlement] Act 2022 has now passed in both the House of Assembly and the Senate, paving the way for a minimum wage in Bermuda.

The Government previously advised that they intend implement a minimum wage rate of $16.40 in June 2023, which they noted will be one of the highest minimum wages in the world.

    Yes it maybe one of the highest minimum wages in the world but measured against our economy it’s still not enough! Still can’t pay my rent with this! Why brag when your comparing it to economies that are less expensive than ours?
