Pickleball Bermuda Bash Starts On Saturday

The inaugural Pickleball Bermuda Bash gets underway at the Pompano Beach Club Resort in Southampton on Saturday [December 3].
The week-long event is organised by Bermuda Sports International and features Allyce Jones, a Professional Pickleball Association [PPA] player.
Jones, who started playing pickleball in 2019, will lead daily workshops for registered players throughout the tournament.
She has won three bronze medals in PPA matches and is ranked fifteenth in singles and women’s doubles and seventeenth in mixed doubles.
The popularity of pickleball has grown on the island in recent years.
It has featured in the Deloitte Tennis and Pickleball Tournament at Pomander Gate Tennis Club for the past two years.
The sport, one of the fastest-growing in the United States, incorporates elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis.
