Bermuda Sailors Compete In US Open Series
The 2023 US Open Sailing Series Clearwater got underway with four Bermuda sailors taking to the water in Florida.
After the first four races, Campbell Patton finds himself in 10th place with 27 points in the ILCA7 division, after finishing 3rd in the first race and 12th in the second, he would then finish 18th in the third race, before crossing the line in 11th in the fourth race.
Sebastian Kempe is 16th with 38 points, Kempe crossed the line 22nd in the first race and then 10th in the second race, Kempe finished 15th in the third race, before ending the day in 13th in the fourth race.
Benn Smith is in 21st with 54 points, Smith finished the first race in 23rd, and then he finished 8th in the second race, Smith would finish 26th in the third race, before finishing 23rd in the fourth race.
After four races, Adriana Penruddocke is in 10th place in the ILC6 division with 30 net points.
In the first race, Penruddocke was ruled U-Flagged – a ruling where a boat is deemed to have prematurely started a race, Penruddocke then finished 5th in the second race, and she would finish 15th in the 3rd race, before crossing the line 10th in the fourth race, and with sailors able to throw out a race Pennruddocke is 20 points out of a podium spot.
