Kimwana Eve Launches ‘Lookie Lookie’ Directory
A new online directory for Bermuda small businesses has launched with a “goal to help companies and customers find each other.”
A spokesperson said, “Kimwana Eve founded Lookie Lookie last year to fill a gap in the market to encourage residents to find businesses, connect with them and then shop. And while the platform is a directory, it also serves as a marketing opportunity for businesses.
“Lookie Lookie supports entrepreneurs who do not have the time or capacity to advertise their products or services in a way that gives them the ability to spend more time focusing on the things they love. The goal is to help small businesses to get noticed by increasing brand awareness through social media platforms that put them in front of an audience who wants to support Bermuda’s small business community, ultimately increasing sales.
“The platform is the Bermuda version of popular US website Yelp. Mrs Eve strives to help many smaller businesses that were created during the pandemic get more exposure and get in front of their ideal clients and customers.
“Businesses can register their business on Lookie Lookie through a tiered payment system starting at $22 per month. In addition to the directory, the packages can also include content creation via stories, posts, carousels and reels on Instagram.”
Mrs Eve says: “A large number of businesses in Bermuda aren’t brick and mortar and if the owner isn’t your friend, coworker or family member, you likely don’t know about the business. There are plenty of options in Bermuda and as a whole, we need to do a better job of supporting small businesses. You don’t have to go online to purchase what you need whether it’s for a service such as building a website or buying tangible items. The platform is designed for you to search to see if you can find what you’re looking for in Bermuda first and if not, then go online.”
The spokesperson said, “There are three options to choose from on Lookie Lookie:
- Silver is $22.25 per month and includes one business profile with your name, logo, tagline or slogan, brief description, hours of operation, business type, delivery offered, physical address + map, phone number, email address, link to two social media handles, up to 10 images and link to website
- Gold is $82.50 per month and includes everything in the Silver package plus text capabilities, Whatsapp direct and up to two multi-business social media posts per month
- Platinum is $229.17 per month and includes everything in SIlver and Gold plus upload up to 40 images, upload unlimited PDFs, up to four customized social media posts per month, mention on Lookie Lookie radio or online interviews, higher position in directory, reply to reviews and access to in-house designer upon request
“All three packages include admin removing reviews that can be a defamation of character or threatening to the business. A 12-month commitment is preferred for all packages and payment can be recurring or annual.”
Mrs Eve says: “Thousands of people search the Internet daily, trying to find ‘that thing’. The challenge in Bermuda is that there is no one spot for all small businesses. You cannot search for something that you do not know exists. The goal is to help small businesses to get noticed by increasing brand awareness through social media platforms that put them in front of an audience who wants to support Bermuda’s small business community, ultimately increasing sales.”
