DeSilva, Regier & Williams Join Centennial Board

Centennial Bermuda Foundation have welcomed three new Board members – Lisa DeSilva, Paul Regier and Dantae Williams — each serving on different committees.

A spokesperson said, “Centennial Bermuda Foundation welcomes three new Board members, each serving on different committees. Centennial, a private philanthropic organisation that funds a wide range of non-profit initiatives and scholarships has appointed:

  • Lisa DeSilva, Education Reform Unit Lead with the Ministry of Education, to Chair Centennial’s Public Education Committee.
  • Paul Regier, Group Investment and Treasury Manager of Lancashire Insurance Company, joining Centennial’s Investment Committee.
  • Dantae Williams, a Litigation Attorney and Director at Marshall Diel & Myers Limited, joining Centennial’s Nominations and Governance Committee.

About Lisa DeSilva

“Lisa leads the Ministry of Education’s Education Reform Unit for Bermuda’s public schools. Her experience and insight will strengthen and enhance decision making in Centennial’s Public Education Grant Review Committee.

“Lisa understands the challenges facing the Education system, with more than ten years of classroom teaching experience, and over 15 years of educational leadership experience having also been a mentor teacher, middle school principal, Education Officer and Assistant Director for Educational Standards and Accountability. Lisa holds a Master’s in Education. She served as the Learning First school transformation co-leader for implementation of the National and Core priorities, and the new senior school Signature Learning Programmes [including STEM, Trades and Professions, Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Tourism and Education Services]. She also served as co-lead for System Leadership, and as a team member for the work streams designing strategies for the future Education Workforce and Learning Partnerships.

About Paul Regier

“Paul is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst with more than 25 years experience in capital markets, asset management and treasury, both on the sell-side and buy-side and has experience in hedge funds, banking and insurance.

“Paul is Canadian and is the first non-Bermudian to serve on Centennial’s Board bringing a new perspective to its work. He will support Centennial’s Investment Committee which has oversight of the endowment and investment strategy.

About Dantae Williams

“Dantae is an experienced attorney in litigation and policy drafting. He will support Centennial’s legal components and governance matters. Dantae has a history of community contribution having served on various non-profit Boards.

“Dantae was Committee Chair of the Alpha Beautillion Scholarship Program, where he was responsible for raising funds, coordinating professional development workshops, and mentoring male high school, junior and senior students, and has also supported the Women’s Resource Centre with pro bono work.”

I wish to personally thank board members Craig Tucker and Tim Marshall who have served their term on the board and who now join the Trust Committee.
