Kamau Leverock inked his name into Bermudian cricket’s record books after scoring 103 against Panama to help the island advance to the regional final of the ICC Men’s T20 Americas World Cup Qualifier.
Leverock’s thrilling century came from 58 balls, including ten fours and six sixes, and was part of an opening stand of 179 runs with Tre Manders [67 not out].
The all-rounder became the first Bermudian to score a T20 hundred in Tuesday’s game at the Belgrano Athletic Club Ground in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He also claimed two wickets for 15 runs off two overs.
Bermuda’s 60-run victory over Panama was their third successive win at the five-team Americas Sub-Regional Qualifier, ensuring they top the group ahead of their final match against the Bahamas on Saturday.
Leverock and his team-mates can start planning for the regional final in Bermuda from September 28 to October 8.
