Packwood Teaching At Albany Law School
Cheryl Packwood is currently four months into a one-year professorship at Albany Law School in New York.
A spokesperson said, “Bermudian lawyer and senior C-Suite executive Cheryl Packwood is currently four months into a one-year professorship at Albany Law School.
“Ms. Packwood is serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law at Albany Law School in Albany New York, a post which began January 1, 2023. Albany Law School is affiliated with the University at Albany, and is a small, private school located in the heart of New York State’s capital, where it has educated leaders since 1851.
“The institution offers students an innovative, rigorous curriculum taught by a committed faculty. Students at Albany Law School have access to New York’s highest court, federal courts, the executive branch, and the state Legislature.
“Ms. Packwood is currently teaching two classes: International Business Transactions and Public International Law.
“Bermuda will be aware that Ms. Packwood is an accomplished and proven Senior Executive, C-Suite Officer, Entrepreneur and Board Member with 30 years of success in telecom, wireless, insurance, reinsurance, media, business development and government. She was the first woman managing executive of a cellular telecommunications company on the African continent.
“Ms. Packwood has also represented Bermuda in the US, United Kingdom and Europe, and other countries. Her focuses were on developing trade, commercial, business, and economic strategies, relations, and policies.
“Ms. Packwood earned a B.A. Cum Laude in History with a certificate in Teacher Preparation from Yale University and a J.D. with Honors on her third-year thesis from Harvard Law School. In addition to her Visiting Professorship at Albany Law, Ms. Packwood is simultaneously finishing her LLM in Banking and Finance at Boston University School of Law.”
