Penultimate Event Of FedExCup Fall Schedule
The Butterfield Bermuda Championship, with its confirmed dates of November 9-12, has been announced as the penultimate event of seven official PGA TOUR tournaments which make up the revised 2023 FedExCup Fall schedule.
Tournament director, Danielle Carrera, said, “This is great news for Bermuda’s PGA TOUR event. We are thrilled to continue our status as a stand-alone event and to be the penultimate tournament on the reimagined FedExCup Fall, which promises to bring greater drama than ever before. We plan to build on our successes to date, including spectator experiences, community impact and field strength, while showcasing everything Bermuda has to offer to the PGA TOUR professionals, their families, and our fans. We look forward to making additional announcements, including ticket sales, in the coming weeks so watch this space.”
The spokesperson said, “Last month’s PGA TOUR announcement featured some of the most meaningful updates to the season since 2007, giving players the chance to secure or improve their playing status and earn additional benefits for the 2024 season.
“The FedExCup Fall changes mean that Butterfield Bermuda Championship players will be competing for a $6.5 million purse in addition to the following benefits awarded to the winner:
- A two-year PGA TOUR exemption
- Priority ranking position and 500 FedExCup Points
- Entry to the season-opening Sentry Tournament of Champions
- Entry to THE PLAYERS Championship
- Eligibility into Major Championships that have invited PGA TOUR Champions in the past – The Masters being the most noteable
