Bowlers To Compete In Pan Am Championships
Bermuda’s National Men’s Bowling Team leaves the island this coming Saturday for the Dominican Republic to compete in the Men’s Pan American Championships, which will also serve as the qualification events for this year’s Pan Am Games and the International Bowling Federation [IBF] World Cup.
The tournament runs from May 22 – 29th, 2023
The team of David Maycock, Lamar Richardson, Dennis Joell, Dayvon Tucker, Blake Raynor, and Jamel Bean will compete in Men’s Singles, Doubles, Trios, and the prestigious team event. Each event will consist of 6 qualifying games to determine who wins gold, silver, and bronze. The team will be up against over 25 countries from the Western Hemisphere including overall favorites Team USA.
The top seven teams will determine who qualifies for this year’s IBF World Cup, scheduled to take place in Kuwait in October and the top two doubles scores from each country will determine the three qualifying spots for this year’s Pan Am Games in Chile, Bermuda will also have the opportunity to qualify for the Pan Am games at next months CAC games.
The event will also serve as a warm-up for Maycock, Richardson, Joell, and Tucker who will also be heading to the CAC Games next month in El Salvador with Team Bermuda.
All members of the team have a wealth of experience with the exception of Bean who will be making his international debut.
