Traffic: Cup Match Holiday In St. George’s
The Ministry of Public Works issued an advisory outlining the traffic order that will be in place in St. George’s during the upcoming Cup Match holiday period.
A Government spokesperson said, “For the convenience of persons attending the Annual Cup Match Classic to be held in St. George’s on Thursday, August 03rd, 2023 and Friday, August 04th, 2023 this Traffic Order is made and shall be effective between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily, on the above dates.
Road Closure
- Wellington Slip Road – Closed to all non-resident vehicular traffic between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. both days.
“Note: this roadway is One Way in clockwise direction.
No Parking Between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
- Mullet Bay Road – Swing Bridge to western boundary ofthe Town of St. George’s
- Wellington Hill – Wellington Lane to Suffering Lane
- Wellington Lane – Mullet Bay Road to Wellington Back Road
- Wellington Slip Road – From Mullet Bay Road and the entire length of roadway loop
Bus Service
“The lay-bys near Mullet Bay Park on Mullet Bay Road will be clearly posted “buses only”.
Car Parking
“Parking will be available at Mullet Bay Park and Penno’s Wharf. There will be no parking facilities inside the Wellington Oval except for VIP’s and invited guest of St George’s Cricket Club.
“In addition, the Bermuda Police are hereby authorized to ‘Close-off’ streets or portions of streets and restrict or authorize parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
