Senior Caribbean Squash Tournament Underway
The XXVIII Senior Caribbean Squash Championships got underway in the Cayman Islands, with Bermuda players in action.
Matthew Elliott lost to number one seed Khamal Cumberbatch from Barbados 11-5, 11-2, 11-7.
Micah Franklin advanced to the next round following his 18 minute 11-3, 11-2, 11-2 win over Neil Mccomb from the Cayman Islands.
Armin De Weerdt fell in 15 minutes against Daniel Ince from Guyana 11-4, 11-5, 11-3.
Taylor Carrick lost against Jake Kelly from the Cayman Islands in a five-setter which took 39 minutes, ending 5-11, 4-11, 11-2, 11-8, 11-7.
Anaya Smith fell to Chayse McQuan from Trinidad 11-9, 11-2, 11-9 in a 26 minute battle.
In the men’s doubles, Carrick and Smith lost 11-10, 11-7 to Jamaican pair Bruce Burrowes and Julian Morrison in 21 minutes.
