Bodybuilding: Mikle Dill Targets Pro Card In Milan
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Mikle Dill is on a mission in Milan, Italy, to earn his bodybuilding pro card this weekend.
Dill arrived in the Northern Italian city yesterday, where he will compete at the NPC Worldwide Olympia Amateur Italy in the men’s classic physique and believes he is in better shape than ever.
The 25-year-old must finish in the top two overall to claim a pro card, which will enable him to compete at professional shows for cash prizes.
“It’s the best I’ve looked, the leanest I’ve looked, and the hardest I’ve ever pushed in prep,” Dill told Bernews.
“I’ve put in all the hard work. I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself. I’m just trying to control what I can. However, I think [winning a pro card] is a definite possibility.
Dill prepared for the Olympia by competing at the NPC Worldwide Royal Grand Prix Bermuda Regional last month, finishing runner-up behind Kyle Santucci.
“To come second to a good friend of mine was rough, but it was a well-deserved win, and he looked better than me on the day,” Dill said. “Kyle works his butt off in the gym.
“I always want to look better than my last look. My main goal is to keep improving.”
The former Bermuda national team rugby player had also planned to compete at the NPC Worldwide Caribbean Grand Prix Bahamas Pro Qualifier next month but will likely take a short break after Milan to rest and recuperate.
“I’ll reassess how my body feels after this show,” added Dill, who made his competition debut at the NPC National Qualifier Tri-City Classic Bodybuilding Championships in Columbus, Georgia, in March.
“I might just call it and go into the offseason and let my body grow. I don’t want to destroy myself chasing it when I know I need to take a break.”
Congratulations!
