Leopards Club Donate To Christ Church
[Written by Dale Butler]
As the Leopards Club International approaches its 75th anniversary in February, the executive and members have been busy increasing membership, renovating, preparing for their annual general meeting on Sunday, November 5, and fundraising.
On Thursday, October 26, Vice President Calvert Harvey and Assistant Secretary Keith Battersbee donated $700 to assist with the kitchen renovations needed by Christ Church Devonshire, who were put to the test by Covid as they worked hard to feed hundreds in need.
Unfortunately, the kitchen has outlived its life because it has also been widely used by youth groups, seniors, CPR, crochet, and knitting, to name just a few of the activities regularly held there.
Representing the church at the cheque presentation were well known celebrity Chef Fred Ming [Chairman] along with church warden Sharon Lee Johnson. Mr. Ming expressed his thanks for the donation to the Leopards, who have a fondness for worshipping with the Christ Church Devonshire family every February.
Mrs. Johnson was also delighted, and informed the Leopards that the renovations are major and if anyone wished to assist financially they could do so by contacting them at 236-3671 or devonshire@anglican.bm.
