Bermuda national team footballer Willie Clemons has provided an update from the hospital after his knee surgery yesterday [October 25].
Clemons suffered a serious injury playing for Braintree Town last season and faced a 14-month waiting list for a consultation with a doctor before the English non-league side stepped in and launched a GoFundMe page in August.
“Step one down. Thank you to everyone who made this possible in a timespan that we thought would never happen!” Clemons tweeted yesterday. “Love from the bottom of my heart.”
The 28-year-old, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament [ACL] had to quit his job as a printer because of the injury.
He made 26 appearances for Braintree last term before his injury.
